Father's Day and Summer Fun

Dearest Castillo Children,

Summer has been so fun now that we are finally better to enjoy it! Our summer activities are as follows: Mondays - Dance class for Nora, Tuesdays - Swimming, Wednesdays - Summer Movies, Thursday - Library and every other Friday we do a random activity, like swimming, going to the mountains or going to McDonald's (Or, Old McDonald's, as Nora calls it). We keep ourselves busy since there isn't preschool for Nora nor voice lessons for me. We need something to break up these long summer days.

Nora has enjoyed her dance class, but I don't think she *loved* it. Half of the time she didn't want to go. I'm going to see if she misses now that it is over before I try to sign her up again. I think she would do better in gymnastics - it's more physical and less "pretty". I think it'll be more Nora's style. However, Annalise was DYING since she was too young for the class and couldn't be apart of it. I got a little dance outfit for Nora but Annalise insisted on wearing something special, too. I didn't mind since she looked SO stickin' cute!

I'm still kind of in love with Annalise's sad face - she just wants to dance! There is a group here called Sahuarita Dance that I am thinking about joining my theatre program with so I can teach with them. If I teach with them then I get to have any amount of classes free for my children. Both girls could take dance and gymnastics for free. I'm really tempted to do it - especially since they'll find all my students and I just have to show up. We'll see what the more attractive offer is for me. To join a big established place or to be a free agent.

It was also Father's Day not too long ago and Todd was able to have a nice day. Our Stake Conference always falls on Father's Day, which is kind of nice since most meetings for the ward are cancelled so people can spend time with their kids. Except for the poor stake presidents.

Here's Todd's Day in Pictures!

We went to church

Nora stuck a raindrop sticker on her face and thought it was HILARIOUS!

The girls insisted that Daddy needed balloons. The dollar store didn't have any Father's Day ones, (what's up with that!?!) so we got a party and smiley face one.

At the dollar store each girls got a dollar to buy daddy something. They both picked bouncy balls - though I suspect they were for them.

Nora "reading" the card she wrote for Daddy. It was very long and beautifully written - too bad she's the only one that can read it.

Daddy got some new shirts, two new ties and bouncy balls. Not bad.

I also started my theatre workshop and that is SO fun. The girls go to a friend's house that I pay to watch them for the two hours I teach. I just love theatre and teaching the basics. I designed the curriculum myself and enjoy teaching it a lot. It also didn't hurt I made a nice profit on it and it was fun for me. I hope to find more ways to continue to teach it.

Well, that's it for now! Love you girls! You're amazing and silly and wonderful and sweet and I just love you to death!

With All My Love,

Your Mother

  1. Sounds like a wonderful summer. I wish we could come share some of those days at the pool. We love you all so much. It is so fun to see those girls growing up and we loved hearing about their big girl beds. Have a wonderful week.
